Well its been another busy day here at our house. Brady decided to climb up and get a jar of peanuts, and shatter the jar on the tile floor, guess he couldn't get the lid off, :) I walked back in to find him rubbing his feet and hands around in the glass. I put him in the high chair to assess the damage,he had some small cuts on his toes and hand, but otherwise he was ok, very lucky. So I managed to get that cleaned up, there must have been a million pieces of glass everywhere. Well I have been really busy this afternoon,so we were cooking a late supper. Brady was playing in the living room, right next to the kitchen, and we called ourselves watching him. Anyway his brother said "uh mom, either Brady has jelly in his ear,or hes bleeding. Yep, it was blood. He had blood dripping down his ear and neck, coming from inside his ear. So we turned all the food off,and headed to the ER,not knowing what had happened. Brady made lots of new friends in the waiting room, even convinced two nice ladies to buy him two bags of chips, which he ate all of. He had everyones attention there,he was being such a monkey. Of course everyone wanted to know what happened, why his ear was bleeding, and probably why he was so dang happy with blood running out of his ear, lol. We finally seen the doc,and just as we had suspected,he had stuck something down in it,and cut the center part of the inside of his ear. The doc said his ear drum looked fine, thank goodness. But we have no idea what he stuck in his ear, luckily whatever it was,was not there anymore. He has never stuck anything up his nose or in his ears,so I guess this is a new bad habit to worry about :o We walked all around the living room, but didn't find anything. Oh,in case your wondering,we did finish supper and ended up eating at midnight. Of course the kitchen cleaning has to wait til we wake up in just a little while. All is well now though, were home, and Brady is happy as a lark. He hasn't touched his ear at all,so it must not be bothering him. Oh well, there went another ten years off mommy, lol. Now were just gonna hang out and wait til he decides to sleep, which I pray is soon. I will keep you guys posted on how things progress. |

We have had such a good day here, other than having a naked little Angel most of the day, lol. For some reason Brady hasn't wanted to wear clothes today, oh well, we all wish we could have naked days, whether or not most of you admit it or not, lol. Anyways we went up to Maw Maws this afternoon and the boys decided to play in the rain. Brady was soaking wet and covered in mud,but he had a blast. OMG!! Brady just put his toy back on the shelf where it came from and got a new toy, there is hope for him cleaning up after himself, even my typical 9yr old has problems with that, lol. As I was saying its been a good day. He is really enjoying his brother being home, but he loves to be a pest to him :) Peyton does really well including Brady. He loves to take him into the other room to "watch tv",which Brady really doesn't do. He just walks around looking for things to get into of course. He did watch part of the Wizard of Oz last night, which was a real shocker,as he doesn't sit still for anything usually. OH! Did I tell you guys that some of our Angel friends and family sent Brady a "Papi Package"? As most of you know, his papi's were discontinued,so a family up North found the papi's in some stores there, and picked up a bunch for Brady,we never even asked them to. It was the sweetest thing ever, the package said "From one Angel to another", how precious is that!!!!!! I am so totally floored that they would do this for someone that they have never even met, they truly are amazing people. Its so wonderful to know that there are people like this in the world. I cannot not wait to meet them at the conference next year, were going to have so much fun! I keep thinking of something special to do for them, but of course they say that we better not do anything. I just want them to know how special we really think they are and how much they have touched our lives. Anyways we will figure out something :) Well guess I better get going here, Brady is demanding a cup, hes not very patient. I will post more later. |

Well were doing good here. Brady has had a busy weekend, getting into to something the entire time. The first thing he done, was to bad to even mention here, but it was a heck of a party! We all went out to the camper, per Peyton's request. Craig,Peyton and me decided to play a game of monopoly while there, while Brady ran wild. He decided to take a head dive from the top of three steps, leading up to the bedroom, all the way to the bottom. Of course it nearly scared me and Craig to death, and Brady was very stunned at first. He cried just a bit and then was up looking for something else to get into. His brother thought he had to get out the marshmallows, which we don't usually do around Brady. Of course Brady managed to steal one from his brother and had it nearly down his throat before me and Craig could hold him down, prize his mouth open and pull it out of his throat. Well we got back to our game where Brady continued to steal his brothers monopoly money and take off running with it. He also had a floor full of popcorn by this point. Then he decided to go under the table, where he found yet, another piece of a marshmallow and nearly got choked on it as well. We finally admitted defeat to Peyton so that we could take the manic boy back inside, after he had taken years off our lives of course! Yeah it was a wild night, but we did have fun,and it satisfied Peyton, most importantly. Anyways everything else is good here. My step dad seems to be back on the mends, but has a very long time to go. I finished up clothes shopping for the boys,to go back to school, glad to have it over with. Not sure if I posted about Peyton's doctors appt or not,but he was diagnosed with migraines. We go back in two weeks for an MRI with contrast,to make sure that everything looks ok. Not much else going on here. Brady just got out of bed, yikes!!!!! He is petting the puppy at the moment. He does occasionally have to pull its hair to make sure it still cries, lol. Well thats about it for me. I will post something more interesting later. Maybe even get a video on here,if I can get it to work :) |

Well its been a busy week! We had to go to the health office to get Brady's birth certificate so he could start kindergarten this year. He spent the entire time running around trying to go in all the doors, entertaining everyone there, including the ladies behind the desk. I must say that I rather enjoy seeing everyone fall in love with my little man, that smile could melt anyone. He really did listen quite well, his comprehension continues to improve. I told him to walk across the room and get himself a book off the table, and he done it! Of course he went and thew it over the desk,he wanted to share with the receptionists, lol. Anyway it went well. We went to school today and got him all signed up. I spent a while talking to Peyton's new teacher, she is awesome! He wanted her to be his teacher this year, and he told her so,lol. She just loves him, I think its going to be a great year for both boys :) Anyways Brady took a nap today, that's very unusual,so hopefully he isn't getting sick. We cut both boys hair tonight, they were starting to look like girls, lol. I had no idea how much hair Brady had, I was shocked! He looks so strange now that his hair is short, I have to get some pictures posted. Well gotta go,were heading back to Fl to take Peyton to Brady's neuro tomorrow. He has been having lots of bad headaches,so we have to figure out whats going on. I will post more tomorrow. |

Anyways I'm going to try and get some videos posted here in the next few minutes. Their on my lappy and I have been having problems with it. Anyways keep an eye out,its just video of Brady being silly, pig snorting, saying "ok" and showing off his baseball skills. |

Well its been a busy weekend here. Brady spent most of the weekend with his dad, while I was at the hospital with my mom and step dad. Saturday, my step dad was changing the oil in his daughters car, when the car came off the ramps and down onto his leg. He ended up being flown out to a different hospital with a broken leg and foot. He was in surgery all day,but they were able to repair the damage, thank God. Keep him in your prayers,as he is still in the hospital. There going to unhook everything tomorrow and if all goes well,he will be home Tuesday. As for Brady, hes doing great. His dad said he has been really good all weekend. We dropped his med again Friday night, so far so good. He is down from 6 pills,to 3,so were half way there. His sleeping has greatly improved in the last week. He is sleeping soundly now,so Im going to head to bed very soon. As soon as my new camera charger comes in, I will get some new pics on here. Apparently I left my other charger in the hotel room, when we went to the walk a thon earlier this year :( Anyways will post more later. |

Well we made it back from the doc today and they said Brady's nose and ears look perfect. As always, it was a very eventful adventure. We walked in and signed in,where Brady was a big help, taking everything off the counter and guiding my hand, while signing in. I took him to the little toy room to play, but he was more interested in all the patients sitting in the waiting room. I tried my best to stop him from messing with anyone, but he,as usual, won. He went all the way around the room, going down entire rows of chairs, hugging each and every person. If he missed one,he turned around and went back to get his hug. He was determined not to leave anyone out. Its amazing how pure his love is,he never judges anyone or discriminates. It didn't matter if they were black, white, fat, skinny, young or old,he still had to give each person the same kind of love and attention, not once, not twice, but multiple times, lol. I did feel a bit like a soccer goalie by the time it was all over, from blocking the hair pulls and the glasses swipes, but we done good,he only pulled one lady's hair, lol. It wasn't long before he had the entire room smiling and talking to him,all eyes were on him and he loved it. In the play room there is a stepped up area that has rails, overlooking the waiting room. He climbed up there and held onto the rails laughing and playing with everyone there, just like it was a stage set up for him. I was telling another mom there, that he has AS and that's why he doesn't speak, but that he understands what we say to him. As I was saying this, he was so determined to be center of attention, he blurts out "hellllllooooo", very loudly,to everyone in the room. The woman looks at me and says well that was plain as day, and said hellllllooooo to Brady. Of course Brady was giggling and beaming from ear to ear. He knew that he had said something and that we thought it was wonderful. He has never said hello before, never even made the l sound before,so this was a huge accomplishment for our little guy. I think because,as he was hugging everyone, I was telling them that hugging is how he says hello,he heard me and he repeated it. I guess since all eyes were on us anyways, I should have just got up there and done a presentation on Angelman, lol. Anyway, he may never say this word again, but that sweet sound is etched in my mind forever. It is so amazing, the effect that he has on people,he could make the hardest heart turn to mush. He made a lot of new friends today, I would be willing to bet that they will never forget him. Even though he gave out lots of hugs,he really was very well behaved and so darn sweet! Of course when we went to the exam room,he refused to stay put. He had to go visit his favorite nurse,he knew right where to find her. He went up and hopped right up in her lap, I think he would stay with her if we let him. Its so funny, this woman has a nephew with AS,so she knows all to well about the hair pulling and glasses swiping. Right when he hopped up in her lap,she took her glasses off,we usually have to tell people to watch there glasses, but not her. Then of course he had to make sure that he spoke to every doctor, nurse and receptionist in the office, lol. He really was being a monkey today, but I'm glad he was in a good mood and that the hair pulling was kept to a minimum, I'm so proud of my little man. Anyways just wanted to share our adventurous day. Were lucky to have a kid who loves going to the doctor, lol. Im gonna try and get some rest, since I couldnt get myself to sleep last night. After today, Im wiped out. I will post more later. |

Were heading out to the ENT to have Brady's nose and ears checked again, hopefully everything will be fine. He hasn't had a nose bleed in a while,so it is better for sure. But I had to share what he just done,it is sooooo cool. I have some pieces of colored construction paper, laminated, with the color listed on each piece. Brady was playing with a green one and I said to him "green", he holds up the green card and starts slapping it with the other hand, then starts clapping for himself, he knew that he was holding the green card,he associated the word green with it,how cool is that!!!! Its so fun to see him doing all these new things. I know that he is so teachable, its just finding the right technique. It just seems like the possibilities are endless, all these new doors are opening. It gives me hope that we will one day teach him to read, he is so capable! Anyways just wanted to share. Gotta get going here. I will post when we get back and let yall know how it goes at the doc. |

YEY!!!!!!! We have our papi's and Brady couldn't be happier!! He is so,so much calmer now that he has them. God really had a hand it us getting these papis. The lady that we bought them from, went above and beyond to get them to us for the best price she could and to get them here as quickly as possible. She shipped them out Monday and we had them by Tuesday afternoon. I know most people wouldn't understand how much of an impact that something as small as a pacifier would have one someones life, but trust me, it will make our lives so much easier. Brady has major oral sensory issues,he has to have something in his mouth to calm him and a pacifier is the cleanest, safest way to do that. Our speech therapist told me one time that when we are concentrating while writing, most of us tend to chew on the end of the pen or pencil were using,or we have at some point or the other. For some reason it helps us concentrate and focus. The papis have the same effect on Brady, they just help him focus and stay calm. Anyways were just glad to have them here and be getting some rest. As for everything else, things are good. Brady has been being a little monkey today. HE came over and stole my bag of chips tonight, I told him to take them to dad and let him help,so he did it. He proudly walked right over to his dad and handed him the chips :) Another thing he done was while we had him sitting in the high chair in the bathroom, while we got our baths. He inched his chair over to the counter and grabbed a screw driver. His dad says "hey Brady, I bet you cant throw that thing down",well of course reverse psychology worked, lol. He threw that screw driver down just as quick as his dad said that. Just like any other kid,if they think you don't want them to do something, they will, lol. We had the boys in a kiddy pool under the carport tonight,so we decided to let the puppies out of the pin for a bit. Well Binki got to close to the pool,so Brady decided to give the poor little thing a bath, lol. They had a good time though, but Brady didn't think it was time to get out of course. Not much else going on here. We have an appt with the Augmentative clinic in August, hopefully we can come up with a good device for Brady to use to communicate,he is so ready! I just pray that he does well and shows everyone there what he can do and doesn't just show out,we just never know how hes going to do. Well that's about it for now. I'm going to try and get the monkey to sleep. Will post more later. |

Well, things are finally settling down here, thank goodness! Brady spent the night with Maw Maw last night, and he actually slept all night! Of course he would make us out to look like liars, saying he wouldn't sleep at night, lol. Anyways he crawled up in the chair with his dad about an hour ago,and went to sleep, yey!! Im heading to bed shortly, looking so forward to sleeping all night. Things really have been crazy here lately though. We had three girls staying over last week, when Brady decided to stop sleeping. I ended up having to take them home early Friday morning,as I hadn't been to sleep yet. Well Saturday my mom and I spent the day going from store to store, looking for Brady's pacifiers. He will only take one kind and of course we couldn't find them. Its amazing how his papi calms him down and helps him sleep. I was feeling pretty helpless last night, when I found out that this particular type of papi, had been discontinued :0 I finally found them on ebay, some people were actually selling them for $30,a pack of two!!! I guess they knew that if someone was looking for them on ebay, they must be desperate. Anyways, I did find a nice lady who had 14 packs and was able to cut us a deal for all 14 packs! She was even nice enough to overnight them,so hopefully we will have them by Tuesday. Brady has also picked up a nice habit of grinding his teeth, not good at all! I hope that the pacifiers will cut down on some of that, before he really messes his teeth up. So I finally have the papi situation resolved, so I hope! Just pray they don't loose them in the mail, lol. Well, Saturday night when we were taking the boys up to Maw Maw's house, I backed my van into our old truck, that we use for working around the house. I could have cared less about the truck, but of course it messed up my van! Its not dented or anything, but it did leave big blue paint marks all over my bumper and tail light. I do like blue vehicles, but mine isn't supposed to be that color, lol. Oh well, I guess it could be worse. Finding Brady's papis later that night, made it all better, lol. Its amazing how important these things become when you haven't slept in a while. Brady has been doing great today, hes been on the best behavior I have seen in a very long time. He has been entertaining himself and has been in the best mood. We walked out to the edge of the yard to speak to Maw Maw while she was picking peaches and Brady leaned over, kissed me and started to Maw Maw, he was telling me bye, that he was going with her, lol. Also when we were at her house this morning,he did the same thing,he kissed me and climbed up in her lap. I asked if he was ready to go and he shook his head no. He had done several other things today similar to this. His communication skills have been out the roof today. He has been following commands and even minding when we tell him no or stop. Oh and he cracked me up earlier. We have our pups in a fence under the carport, all 8 of them. Well Brady decided that the cat really should be in the fence as well. He picked the kitty up by his tail and carried him all the way over the fence and dropped him in. Well the kitty jumped out,so Brady patiently walked over, picked him up by his tail again, and put him right back. I was cracking up,it was so funny seeing Brady carrying that cat to the fence and dropping him in,lol. Of course Brady really got a charge out of it too,he cracking up, little monkey! I really think that this is just a glimpse of whats hes going to be doing once hes off all these meds. I am fairly sure that he has been going through withdrawals this past week, causing him to act the way he has and interrupting his sleeping patterns. We will know more once we drop his meds again this coming up Friday. I hope that it doesn't have this effect on him again, but I feel like it will. At least he will be totally off of this one in August,so were just trying to hang in there until then. Well thats about it for me, sorry for rambling on. I will post more later. Night guys! |

Well I can safely say, that all he double L has broke loose since my last post here. Shortly after I posted, that Brady wasn't sleeping at 3am,but was happy,he became very irritable and still refused to go to sleep. He stayed awake all night Thursday night, until 2pm Friday. He was screaming, kicking, hitting, pinching, biting and anything you could think of. He went into some kind manic episode, but would not go to sleep, even after having a sleeping pill that night. I ended up calling the ped about lunch time Friday, begging for ideas or a solution as to how to calm him down and possibly get him to sleep. We decided to go ahead and give him half a seroquil, even though he had already had a clonidine, which had no effect. Hours after the seroquil,he did finally calm down and go to sleep for about 3 hrs, thank God!!!!!! Friday night he again, refused to go to sleep and was manic again. My husband stayed up with us last night,to give me a break. We fought with Brady until after 6am this morning, when he finally closed his eyes for a while. He was back up by lunch and ready to go again. We are all totally exhausted here and in total shock. He has been doing so good since his surgery in March,we just cant figure out whats going on with him. I know that something is happening, but just cant put my finger on what it is. My mother n law came down today and could see that Craig and I were wiped out,so she insisted that both our boys spend the night with her tonight so that we could get some much needed rest. So we are childless tonight and looking forward to a good nights sleep. The only thing we can figure is that Brady is going through withdrawls from one of his meds, that we are in the process of weaning him off of. I hope and pray that things get better once he is totally off,not sure I can go another 2 yrs with absolutely no sleep. Anyways thats about all thats happening here, I will post more as it happens. Wish us luck!!!!!! |

Well its official, I'm a bad mommy!!! As I was saying, Brady played outside in the pool and decided the mud puddle was more fun than the pool. Well last night I took his pjs off to change him,and he had over 35 bites all over his back!!!!!!! The poor little guy is covered in bites of some kind!! He had bug spray on outside,so I don't know what happened. I think that it might be red bugs, ikes!!! Anyway I have been coating him down with medicated itch spray and he seems to be doing ok,as long as his back is covered, otherwise hes scratching like mad. I just feel so darn guilty for not noticing that he had these bites, until after bedtime that night! Anyways,Brady is doing good, other than the fact its 3:34 am and hes wide open :( It was 4:30 am before he went to bed yesterday, looks like he might surpass that this morning. His sleeping has really gone down hill these past couple of weeks, not sure whats happening there. Last night I forgot to give his sleeping pill,so he got it kind of late,my fault. But tonight he had it hours ago,and hes still going strong.Oh well it could be worse, like it used to be,when he didn't go to bed at all. And at least he's happy, that makes these late nights much easier. Cute story............ Last night Peyton was eating chips and dip,so Brady decided to go over and stick his hand in the dip. He was walking around licking dip off his fingers. So Peyton got up and moved behind my desk, thinking he would be safe from Brady. Well first chance Brady got,he reached through the rail and grabbed the whole bag of chips away from Peyton, and literally took off running. He ran over to his dad and held the bag out, and had a look on his face like, here take em before Peyton gets to me,lol. Even Peyton got a laugh out of it, Brady is such a little monkey, lol But hey, he did score some chips out of that deal, lol. Well that's about it for me. Gonna go hang out with Brady and pray that we visit sleepy town very soon. Nite guys. |

Hey guys! Brady is doing great today. He had enjoyed having his and big brothers friends over,he loves chasing them all over the place. They all got in the kiddie pool this afternoon, since dad let our big pool turn green again :( Anyways they had a great time playing in the water. They also played under the sprinkler and made lots of mud puddles in the yard. Of course Brady decided that mud and mud puddles would be more fun than the kiddie pool,so he was a total mess by the time it came time to come inside. I didn't think we would ever get the mud out of his hair, and all the other unmentionable places, lol. But he had a good time, hes all boy that's for sure. He did have a pretty bad nose bleed yesterday, but its the first one in a long while. Hopefully things are getting better in that department. We haven't seen any seizures as of yet,so that is great news!!! I feel so blessed that we found a solution and that he and us are finally getting our lives back. We do still have two Angel friends in the hospital, battling seizures at the moment. My heart just breaks for them and their families. Its so hard to watch your precious children going through so much, battling for their lives, its such a helpless feeling. So guys, please keep the babies and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Seriously, take a moment, right now and say a special prayer for them. We might not be able to physically be there, but prayer goes a long way. Anyways that's it for now, I will post more later. Night guys!! |

Well things are still going good here. Brady hasn't had anymore nose bleeds, all seems well with him, other than him being a destructive little pest the last couple of days, lol. We have been having lots of parties, for those of you who know what I mean, lol. I take my eyes off him for 20 seconds and the party begins, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. He only does it when I get onto him, leave him for 2 minutes to pee or do laundry, or do anything else that isn't to his liking, little stinker! He has also decided that we no longer need a phone. In two days he has thrown my 2 cordless phones in the bathtub,uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............. I guess its my fault though, I should have known better than to take the phones anywhere near water. He isn't biased or intentional,as he throws his cup,the toilet paper, his dads hats, soap, the shaving cream,or anything else he can find, into the tub with me. Thank goodness I did remember to unplug the hair dryer :0 I must say though, it would be a hoot to anyone watching, to see him chunking things in the tub with me and me chunking them back out. Once I throw them out,he goes right back and picks them up,throwing them right back in,lol. We are going through phones and toilet paper left and right these days!! Needless to say the bathroom is a mess by the time were done in there. That song, "Another One Bite's the Dust", is my favorite song these days, just cant stop singing it for some reason, lol. Oh, say a prayer for our pups,Brady has taken an interest in them. I have found him twice with a pup out of the box. Once the pup had Brady sugar all over him, pooor pup. Brady has been really sweet to them, throwing lots of toys at them,oh I mean in with them, guess he wants to give them something to play with huh. Im trying my best to keep him away from them, but between 2 wild boys and 8 wild pups, thats pretty difficult at times. But the pups are doing great, their growing so much. They are going to make good little pets, Brady is getting them kid friendly, hes a good little trainer. We have all but 2 given away now, I will miss them, but I know they wont miss us,lol. Anyways just thought I would rant and rave a bit. I will post more later. |

Well, were still having puter troubles here,so sorry for the delay in posts. Hopefully we will have it all fixed this week. Anyways Brady is doing well, his nose finally stopped bleeding on Thursday. He had a little drainage today, but nothing bad,so were keeping our fingers crossed. Everything else is going good, its been a busy 4th,but hes enjoyed socializing and the fireworks. He hasn't been using his new potty chair much lately, but he did pee in the potty, standing up like a big boy!! Of course he thought it was so cool. We went to town today,he was really good in the store. Me, Peyton and Brady were walking out to the van,and I didn't notice that Brady had lost his shoe. He was limping across the parking lot with only one shoe on. Peyton says uhhh, mom look at his foot, lol. So I turned just in time to see a car run over Brady's shoe in the middle of the drive :0 Anyway Brady totally cracked up,he thought it was the funniest thing ever. The shoe was ok though,so he now has a matching pair again, lol. Brady did do something really cool tonight. We were all sitting at the table eating supper, well Brady decides to throw all his food and hit me in the head with it (thats not the cool part, lol). Anyway he was fussing and wouldn't eat,so I said to his dad that Brady wants a C-U-P, spelled it out so he wouldn't know what I was saying and go balistic. Well he starts shaking his head yes and clapping,he claps when hes saying yes to something. He actually knew what I was spelling!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway thats about all that's going on here. The med weaning is still going well. Hes down from 6 topamax a day,to 4 topamax a day. On another note, we lost another Angel this past week. She got away from her parents and drowned in a local pond near the house. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers, this is such a terrible tragedy,I cant even begin to imagine. Also we have 2 other Angels in the hospital with severe seizures and an Angelman sibling that was just diagnosed with Leigh's Disease and just got out of the hospital. So please keep all these precious children and their families in your prayers. I will post updates as they come. We just pray that God can bring these kiddos out of status and help the docs regain control over these horrible seizures. Anyways will post more later. |
