Angelman Walkathon
Just wanted to let everyone know that we went to the Angelman Walk A Thon this weekend, and had a blast!!!We met so many other wonderful Angels and their wonderful families. This was our first time ever meeting other Angels, even though we have talked many times to these families online,so it was very special to us. I was really nervous about going, but after we got to our hotel and started meeting all the other families, we felt right at home. It was like we were with extended family, our Angelman family. The Angels were all just so friendly and boy did they know how to let you know what they wanted, lol.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able meet other families. I feel so honored to be a part of this wonderful Angelman family. I really don't know what we would have done without their support through these past 2yrs. It has been a journey,an emotional roller coaster, but we have learned a lot from our little Angel, and he has given us an opportunity that most people never get in their lifetime. He has taught us how to laugh, love, and how to be patient with others. He has taught us how not to be judgmental, everyone has their own story to tell. We have learned that God will not place more on our plate than what we can handle,we just have to trust in him and know that he knows what he is doing. Brady has taught us how to laugh at the little mishaps, its not the end of the world. We are just happy that he can get in the potty,or in the cabinents,or climb on the table. We have learned not to take little things for granted.

I know that we have a long journey ahead, but God,our Angelman family, our wonderful friends and family will be there to see us through. We have learned just how many special people that we do have in our lives.

So with that said,I just want to say thank you to all of you have helped us along the way,and will help us in the journey to come. We really are so blessed to be touched by a little Angel Brady and are glad to share him with you and the rest of the world!!!

Maryanne, Sadly Missed
Ok guys some of you may remember back the end of last year when brady got his wish from Make a Wish.Well some of you may also know that the wish coordinator Maryanne, turned out to be a very good friend of mine from high school. We had lost touch after she went away to college. So when she went to work for make a wish, it turned out that she was going to be bradys wish coordinator.

I got a call one day after I had talked to her once or twice already,so when she called she asked,"where did you graduate"? Then she asked me was I so and so before I married. When she told me her first name it clicked and I knew right away who it was.I was just in tears.See after she married, her last name changed,I didnt know her married name.

It was so special to have involved in the wish process with brady. So Maryanne, came down the day that his hot tub arrived, and threw him a little party, brought him some more goodies, and even brought Peyton some stuff. It was like a runion for us,it was so wonderful. She was about 6mths pregnant with twins at that time. She has since had the twins, back at the end of March.Anyway I walked her out her car that day,we hugged and talked about how we were going to get Peyton my 7yr old and Kat her 5yr old together to play.We have emailed each other and she has called a couple times since then. She even sent me pictures of the new babies that were born in March.

So anyway, I got a phone call while at work yesterday, I was paged to the office to catch the call. It was another friend, and she said that she had just got the news that Maryanne had died at home on wed afternoon. I was absoulety in disbelief and in shock. She was only 28 yrs old! I still didnt believe it,so I had to look at the obituaries to see it for myself. It was true. From what I understand it was due to complications due to the dleivery of the twins. Im going to miss her terribly, she was a wonderful mom, friend, and just a wonderful person in general! She was very special!

I had called information a couple times to get her number, but wasnt exactly sure what the name of the place was where she lived. She lived about 4hrs from here.So when she sent me the latest pictures of the girls, only a couple weeks ago,I was going to take that address and call information to get her number.I had put it off because of my busy schedule.

So if I have one thing to say to all of you,its never put things like that off.Always let your friends and family know how close to your heart they really are, because we are not guaranteed a tomorrow!

I am thankful for the time that I was able to spend with her.God used little Angel Brady to reunite us one more time.He is truely an Angel!

Anyway just thought I would share with you all.

What is Angelman Syndrome?

About Brady

Read Brady's Story Here

I am 11yrs old and I have Angelman Syndrome. I may have this syndrome, but I dont let it hold me back. I love life and live it to the fullest every single day. My mom says that our research organization, Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, is working really hard on a treatment or even a cure for me and my friends. I am thankful to have 25 words but I look forward to the day that I can carry on long conversations and talk so much that everybody has to ask me to please be quiet for a few minutes :) Anyway, mom says Im awesome and super funny and I have to agree, lol.
