Chance to Meet Someone Special!
I have been wanting to add something positive to Bradys blog, instead of talking about those ole seizures so I thought I would share this with you all, thought it was pretty cool.Anyway me,Brady, and Peyton went to the courthouse this week. And when we were checking out there wasn't really anyone else in there but us.The lady that was checking us out quietly asked me what was wrong with Brady,of course I was holding him and he was ugh, ugh, ughing.I wasn't offended at all, like most people might think I would be.But then she before I had a chance to really explain what he has, which I love to do,she put into telling me that someone very close to her has a son with cerebral pausy and that he couldn't do any of the things that Brady was doing. She talked about how when she seen a child that had something wrong with them, that it just touched her heart to see them doing things such as sitting up,holding things in their hands, and just having so much use for themselves, like Brady does and hes much older. She talked about how she wished that her friends child could do those things. You learn to be thankful for the little things in life, when you see or hear of something like that.Meanwhile I did tell her all about Angelman Syndrome and how he is my angel! Of course she fell in love with Brady, and Im sure she went home and told everyone that she met an angel that day!I guess my point is that I admired her for having the guts to ask me about Brady, because most people don't,and they miss out on the chance to get to know Brady, what a loss!So just remember that most people that have someone with disabilities would be glad to answer questions, rather than just have people stare at them and wonder. So don't be afraid to ask,you could learn a lot,and get the chance to meet someone very special! And just remember that if you think you have it so bad, just look around and you can always find someone that has it worse! Our family is blessed!Have a blessed day!

Another Seizure!!
You know, seems all I have done is post bad news lately! But I just wanted to keep everyone up to date on whats going on,so here goes.Brady had 2 seizures today. He was acting strange last night so he and I slept on the sofa bed in the living room,or should I say that we tried,I stayed awake and watched him all night, and he tossed and turned. So anyway this morning I was trying to get him back to sleep so he wouldnt get so tired and have a seizure, and so that he would be nice and fresh for his therapy appt in dothan this afternoon. But he didnt go to sleep right away, and as I was laying beside him,I noticed he was seizing. It was a complex partial so I waited and tried not to give his medicine. It did stop on its own.But I figured that he would have more,so I just waited. And after he took a short nap,he started agian, but this time it was a granmal, much worse.I gave his medicine after a minute or so and it did stop, but he his breathing was very irregular.I thought he was going to stop breathing and got very upset. My mom called in the middle of all of this and I just told her to come home, because I didnt want to be alone with him if he stopped breathing. But anyway he has slept the day away and is now awake and playing. We have increased his meds,it will take about a month to get to the full dose,we like 3 weeks.Anyway next maybe it will be good news when I post agian.I will keep you all posted. Thanks for your prayers...

Anothor old Seizure!!
Hey everyone just wanted to let ya know that we went to Dothan for therapy today, and yep you prob guessed,on the way home Brady had a seizure.I kind of suspected something because he was sleeping in the back seat, and kept waking up as if he were startled and then he would kind of wimper. So about Enterprise I had my mirror focused on him and realized that he was slumped over seizing in his car seat.I turned on the flashers and pulled into someones drive.I got my bag with his medicine in it and grabbed it and him and put him on the grass with the bag under his head, becuase there wasnt room beside his carseat, and the front just wasnt big enough..Then I gave him his medicine right beside the road.It was a really bad seizure. It was a granmal. He gave me a really bad scare, all by myself, and didnt know wether to try to make it home or to wait around close to the hospital. But I made sure he was breathing and got him settled in my arms and we drove home.We stopped by the doc to have him checked out and make sure his breathing was ok.Anyway hes fine and resting now.We are going to start increasing his seizure medicine tonight so please everyone be praying for no negative reactions!!!!Oh and just wanted to say that we appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers for our family! That is one reason that I do this blog,so that I can update you all and let you know what is happening with our angel, since you all have been sooooo great and so concerned, you deserve it.Thanks agian....

Brady Touched 3 More Lives Today
I just had to share this story with you all.It might not mean much to some of you, but I do hope it will. It really meant a lot to me. Anyway Brady and I went to the store today to pick up some picture frames that I had found a little while back. These frames are about wallet size and have magnets on the back.We are going to put pictures of objects that he uses in everday life in them, and stick the on the fridge.Hopefully he will learn to use these pictures to communicate with us,since he cant speak.
But anyway we were shopping and there was this lady that was playing with and talking to Brady everytime she walked by as usual. And then there was this other lady that had a child about Bradys age that was talking to Brady.
So we got in line and both the ladies ended up behind us.They were both talking to me and each other saying that they have older children at home and to enjoy my children while they are young cause they grow so fast.
And of course I knew that they were watching Brady laughing and flapping his arms all over the place, and thinking they wondered what was wrong with him.Why was he so happy? So anyway as I was talking to the one with the child and she asked Bradys age, I knew that she was prob comparing his actions to those of her child. It was fine I would have prob been too,to tell the truth.
But the lady that was checking us out asked what in the world I was going to do with 20 of those picture frames. So I explained that Brady couldnt talk and what we were doing with the frames, which she thought was a great idea. But she asked "what do you mean, will he never talk?'I said we just dont know he may or may not. Then she looked really puzzeled. So I said well here is my opportunity!!!
So by this time the ladies behind me had gotten involved in the conversation. So I explained to them that Brady had Angelman Syndrome and how rare it is.They asked the normal questions that everyone does, and I gladly answered. They wanted to know about how it happened, was it hereditary, was there any cure, those type things. One of the ladies even told me that she was going to put "Brady" on her prayer list at church.Of course I said thanks we can use all the prayer we can get.The cashier was apologizing and I said dont apologize, hes great! He will always be just this happy and just this innocent. We are blessed. One of the ladies even shared with me that her son has a very rare skin disorder and we talked breifly about how hard it is when its such a rare thing,to find a doctor that knows anything about it.It just goes to show that most people are really concerned and do care, and are not wanting to pass judjment on Brady like I feared before it all came out about him being an angel. You just have to open that door and let people in,which was one of the hardest things for us to do.
I know that all of those ladies fell in love with my little angel today, and he touched their lives just like he has so many more before them.I knew that God had a purpose for his life and I witnessed it today. He just brings people together and helps them realize how precious life is.And how people with disabilities are human too. They were just talking to him and calling him by his name before we left. They will remember that little angel named Brady from now on im sure.
I do hope that they tell eveyone that they know, that they met a real life angel today.I am just so pleased that I got the opportunity to share my angel with someone else and brighten their day.And got to educate them on Angelman Syndrome.

More Seizures
Just wanted to let everyone know that Brady had 2 more seizures this past Sunday. We were down the river on the boat and he had one.We had his seizure meds with us,but didnt have to use it,the seizure stopped on its own.It wasnt a bad one.And then Sunday night he had anothor one that lasted about 3 min or so,so we went ahead and gave his medicine because we knew since he had already had 2,most likely he would continue until we done something.Anyway he is fine now.He decided that since mommy and daddy are letting him crash in their room now,it would be a good night last night to stay up and party. He kept getting into everything when we tried to put him on a pallet in the floor. And he kept coming over and standing up by the bed and spanking daddy. So then we decide well he can sleep with us,so hes really really happy about that.In fact so happy that he just was like he was in an ant bed.He kicked us,clawed us,and oh yea he spanked us good. But he was laughing the whole time.Guess dad didnt think it was to funny though cause he went to the couch. But mom went and got daddy in the wee hours of the morning after the little angel finally stuck his little hiney up in the air and gave up the ghost!!Just anothor sleepless night,oh well.

More Seizures
Just gonna let everyone know that Brady had a really bad seizure sunday was a week ago.He had to really make the most of it and scare me and his dad to death. It was a major granmal. He turned blue, bit his tongue and made it bleed, and had bread in his mouth which I was afraid of him choking on,so i tried to remove it,and he bit me.Guess i got what I deserved for sticking my finger in there hugh.We got it stopped with his medicine and came on home with him.And we checked his temp which was 102 so we think thats what triggered the bad seizure.Anyway turns out he had pneumonia, and his brother wound up with bronchitis,yey..Needless to say its been interesting around here for a couple of weeks. But they are fine now.Bradys got a little cough, but otherwise on the mends.I will try not to wait so long before doing anothor post.Sorry everyone for being so slow...

My mom says that our research organization, Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, is working really hard on a treatment or even a cure for me and my friends.
