Losing our Speech Therapist
Okay just had to post this.We just found out that we are losing Bradys speech therapist. She is going to be moving. We are so sad.She has been such a blessing for our family and has gotten Brady doing things I wasnt sure he ever would. She has taught us that even if he doesnt ever speak,he can still communicate. She has been not only a therapist, but a friend to our family and we are going to miss her so much.We recently lost a great physical therapist also, because Brady turned 3yrs old and aged out of early intervention.I suppose we should get used to this, but I dont know that we ever will!So Lisa and Joey I have to say thank you so much for all your hard work and words of encouragment. We are going to miss you guys.

Not Sleeping
Well its just at 5:00 am here.I am up so figured it was a good time to post.I awoke to this happy little giggle coming from the end of my bed sometime between 2 and 3 this morning, yes of course it was little Brady. He had climbed out of bed and made his way to my room.He was so proud of himself. So I put him in our bed but he laughed and kicked and climbed us,so I took him back after a while to his bed.I lay and watched him on the monitor as he climbed on big brother and just laughed and giggled. He climbed out of bed a couple more times so I went and put him back.Well then he decides that he will take out the camera at the foot of the bed,and turns it off.So I go and turn it on and try to watch him again,by now its just before 5am,even Craig is a wake,he has to go to work soon.So I get back up and decide that Brady isnt going back to sleep, cant find a papi.So im just hanging out here in the living room with him, trying to give Craig that last little bit of sleep. The bad thing is that I took some tylenol cold nighttime medicine for a sore throat so I am very sleepy and just want to go to bed,but oh well.I do hope that Brady doesnt start this staying up all night,it will affect his seizures, therapies and not to mention dont know if mom and dad can take it.See no sleep is a famous Angelman trait,it is very common.Anyway just pray for us,were going to need it.Just another day in our life.Brady is fine though hes very jolly and is wide awake.Hes just playing with his toys. Its a good thing big brother is a hard sleeper huh.

Boo Hoo Another Seizure
Well you guessed it!Yep Brady just had a seizure. We went to hydro therapy in Dothan today. We had been home a couple of hours I guess. He was laying in the floor sleeping while I sat here with the computer in my lap.I had thought about taking a nap while he was napping, but thank God decided not to.I noticed him open his eyes and look hard to the right.I tried to call his name and get a reaction but got none.I picked him up and he turned his head and eyes really hard to the right and would respond. And then his left arm started shaking, instead of the whole body.I waited about two or three minutes and couldnt stand it anymore so I gave his diastat. But it was at least 4 minutes after that before it stopped. It was different than the others. He was aware that something was happening and held my hand the whole time.He even messed with his pacifier while he was seizing. But his head and eyes stayed to the right side. But he is fine now and sleeping. He will be out for hours Im sure.Anyway just wanted to let you know.

What is Angelman Syndrome?

About Brady

Read Brady's Story Here

I am 11yrs old and I have Angelman Syndrome. I may have this syndrome, but I dont let it hold me back. I love life and live it to the fullest every single day. My mom says that our research organization, Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, is working really hard on a treatment or even a cure for me and my friends. I am thankful to have 25 words but I look forward to the day that I can carry on long conversations and talk so much that everybody has to ask me to please be quiet for a few minutes :) Anyway, mom says Im awesome and super funny and I have to agree, lol.
