Bradys first stitches!
Just wanted to let everyone know that Brady had his first set of stitches, well actually staples,in his head Saturday morning. We left Brady sleeping on the couch,he was sleeping so darn good. Anyway as he has done many times before with no incident,he got up about 4am looking for us and made his way to our room to climb in bed with us. It was dark and Im guessing that he just lost his footing when he was climbing up into bed and he fell backward into the hope chest at the foot of the bed. He cried so hard at first,it was pitiful. We couldnt hold him still to see how bad it was,it was under his hair in the back of his head, but it was pouring blood. So we ran some water and put him in the tub to rinse off some of the blood and see if we could see the spot it was coming from. I wasnt a big cut and had mostly quit bleeding by that time. But I felt like it would need a stitch or two,so I took him on to the ER. The doc ended up putting two staples in the back of Bradys head. He didnt cry on the first one,but he cried a little with the second one. Once we were done he was yelling at me,as to say " get me the heck out of the place",lol. I had to stand at the door with him, everytime I moved away from the door he started yelling, but hey,I think it got us out of there faster, lol. Oh and yeah,he has a bit of a black eye, have no idea how he managed that,it had to be when he fell! Anyway we did make it to the beach later that day,and he had a blast and is doing very well now. He hasnt even noticed the staples. I do have pictures of the beach trip, but havent had time to get them posted. My grandad is in the hospital and not doing well at all,so be patient with us. Anyway just wanted to update yall. Later!

About our day!
So today we took the boys to the zoo and to the beach. Brady didnt like to many of the animals at the zoo,hes really not an animal lover. Anyway I do think that he and the monkey were speaking code language to each other, lol. I always did know that Brady had a little monkey in him! The monkey starting showing out for Brady, and the more Brady laughed, the more the monkey showed out, just for Brady. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. We left there, with a red,hot little Brady. We went to a sitdown restraunt to eat dinner and coold down. While we were there,Brady was still being a monkey. He decided to put chips and salsa in my coke, yummy!! He then climbed under the table to visit nana on the other side, where he tried to dump her plate into her lap. But we did make it through with no major spills, whooo hooo! He did do some really cool things today though. First at dinner he took my hand and tried to put it on my cup,to indicate he wanted drink, when I handed him the keys he dropped them, fussed at me,and put my hand on my cup,and just gave me a look like,"dummy",lol. Well while we were at the beach,he got thirsty,so he crawled up on shore and on all fours, leaned down to a cup with a straw in it,and drank without even spilling it,he always spills. Then when we got ready to leave i stood him beside my van and he climbed up in it,all by himself, hes never done that! Anyway hes really growing up lately,im so proud of him!! Just wanted to share.Hugs

Bradys therapy today.
Bradys therapy went well today. He was a big hyper but done really well. He said buba,uh oh and tried to imitate cock-a-doodledoo. He scribbled on paper and placed three puzzle pieces in the proper places. He was laughing appropriately, instead of random outbursts. He is doing so much better since he came off the klonipin. His sensory issues have are nearly gone now. Brady is finally back to being the happy little boy that we knew he was. Hes progressing in leaps and bounds these days. He is also taking more and more independent steps and learning how to properly catch himself when he falls. Anyway just wanted to keep everyone up to date on his progress. Will post again soon.

About Brady

Read Brady's Story Here

I am 11yrs old and I have Angelman Syndrome. I may have this syndrome, but I dont let it hold me back. I love life and live it to the fullest every single day. My mom says that our research organization, Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, is working really hard on a treatment or even a cure for me and my friends. I am thankful to have 25 words but I look forward to the day that I can carry on long conversations and talk so much that everybody has to ask me to please be quiet for a few minutes :) Anyway, mom says Im awesome and super funny and I have to agree, lol.
