Bradys first stitches!
Just wanted to let everyone know that Brady had his first set of stitches, well actually staples,in his head Saturday morning. We left Brady sleeping on the couch,he was sleeping so darn good. Anyway as he has done many times before with no incident,he got up about 4am looking for us and made his way to our room to climb in bed with us. It was dark and Im guessing that he just lost his footing when he was climbing up into bed and he fell backward into the hope chest at the foot of the bed. He cried so hard at first,it was pitiful. We couldnt hold him still to see how bad it was,it was under his hair in the back of his head, but it was pouring blood. So we ran some water and put him in the tub to rinse off some of the blood and see if we could see the spot it was coming from. I wasnt a big cut and had mostly quit bleeding by that time. But I felt like it would need a stitch or two,so I took him on to the ER. The doc ended up putting two staples in the back of Bradys head. He didnt cry on the first one,but he cried a little with the second one. Once we were done he was yelling at me,as to say " get me the heck out of the place",lol. I had to stand at the door with him, everytime I moved away from the door he started yelling, but hey,I think it got us out of there faster, lol. Oh and yeah,he has a bit of a black eye, have no idea how he managed that,it had to be when he fell! Anyway we did make it to the beach later that day,and he had a blast and is doing very well now. He hasnt even noticed the staples. I do have pictures of the beach trip, but havent had time to get them posted. My grandad is in the hospital and not doing well at all,so be patient with us. Anyway just wanted to update yall. Later!

What is Angelman Syndrome?

About Brady

Read Brady's Story Here

I am 11yrs old and I have Angelman Syndrome. I may have this syndrome, but I dont let it hold me back. I love life and live it to the fullest every single day. My mom says that our research organization, Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, is working really hard on a treatment or even a cure for me and my friends. I am thankful to have 25 words but I look forward to the day that I can carry on long conversations and talk so much that everybody has to ask me to please be quiet for a few minutes :) Anyway, mom says Im awesome and super funny and I have to agree, lol.
