Sorry for the late post guys,Im a little on the puney side these days. Anyways our dentist visit went exceptionally well. Brady was really tired,so I wasnt very optimistic. But he went back and lay across his daddys lap while the dentist checked his teeth over really good. Then he cleaned and flossed them. Brady held his mouth open like a little trooper. He didnt get tired til the very end. He even high fived the dentist and gave him a hug when it was all over. Bradys teeth looked great,no cavities or any other problems! The dentist talked to us about possibly getting Brady in to a dentist closer to his hospital. He said that Brady done great and that he would be glad to see him again if we chose to,but that if was anything more extensive than just a cleaning,he wasnt sure that we would be able to do it there,he doesnt use sedation. I think he was a little nervous about seeing Brady,with Bradys extensive seizure history. He did make a good point by saying that if Brady had a seizure there,he would have to call 911 and that Brady wouldnt get the top notch care that he would at the hospital where his neuro is. Anyway he said he would be glad to see Brady again,he was going to leave it up to us. I really,really liked this guy,he was so good with Brady and really listened to what we had to say. But we are going to try and get him into the dentist office next to the hospital where our neuro is. Mainly so that if Brady has to have any major dental work done,the hospital will be right there.
Anyways,not much else happening here,things are good. We started the day off with a bang,of course. Brady stayed in my bed after I got up. I went back in to check on him,it was dark,so I was going to lay down next to him and snuggle. Of course the second my arm hit the bed,the smell hit me! Yep,Brady was having a poop party right in the middle of my bed,and I lay down it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a great way to start the day,but the bedding is now in the dryer,so we get nice fresh sheets tonight :)

Well its been another busy weekend. We had a little get together Saturday,Brady's aunts and uncles came over for a barbecue,to celebrate his bday. He got tons of water toys for the pool,he had a blast. We had his cousins over to spend the night Sunday night,so Brady,his brother and his cousins spent all day Sunday and Monday in the pool. They had so much fun. One of the girls is 8yrs old and she played so much with Brady. She was "teaching him to swim",lol. He even learned how to climb in and out of the pool. He would climb out and play in the kiddie pool,then jump back into the big pool,off the side. Even though he had on sunscreen today,he and his brother both look like little lobsters. Big brother is complaining about his sunburn tonight,but Brady boy doesn't even seem to be bothered. You would think he would be tired,but he is borderline manic!
We went to church Sunday,big brother was baptized :)) I was in tears as I watched him,nodding his head to the preachers questions. He told the preacher that he had accepted Jesus into his heart,it was so sweet! Brady loved socializing with everyone and they of course fell in love with Brady. He was so funny,the church was honoring this years graduates,so while they were all up front and the preacher was talking to them,Brady just busting out clapping,lol. Everyone turned around and started smiling at him. He kept climbing all over Maw Maw after the service had started,just wouldn't give her a break,so we ended up leaving early,but it was ok,I was a bit sick anyways.
Wish us luck tomorrow,were taking Brady to the dentist for the first time ever,should be very interesting. Ive already warned them that he wont sit still,if they tell him to do, or not to do something, hes just going to laugh at them and go right on and do it. And that they stick there fingers in his mouth at their own risk,we cant be held liable,lol. So say a big prayer for the dentist tomorrow,that when we leave,he will still have all his digits,lol. I will post tomorrow night and let yall know how it goes. |

Not much happening here. Brady just went to sleep,so Im hanging out for a bit,to make sure hes fully asleep before I move him. Anyways we went to an IEP meeting today,it went great! Brady really showed some of his abilities,I think the teachers were fairly surprised by how much he really comprehends. I think their excited to get started with him,and so are we. They are so nice and so concerned about doing whats best for him. We are so fortunate to be working with such a wonderful group of ladies. We finally feel some kind of normalcy in our lives,like we can actually let him go to school and not have to worry so much about seizures,it really is such a great feeling. Were really looking forward to getting him started. I know that he is going to enjoy it so much,he loves to socialize. I have a feeling they might just spoil him a bit,lol.
Anyways not much else happening here. Brady has developed a strange habit of sniffing dirty socks,lol. He will pick up a dirty sock,sniff it,look at it,sniff it again,then giggle,lol. He also sniffs other things,some good,some not so good,if you get my drift.
We have been battling the potty thing lately. He refuses to potty in his diaper,or in the potty!! He will take his diaper off and go in the floor,on the couch or anywhere else he feels the need. Duct tape diapers don't work anymore,he knows how to get them off. Of course clothes don't help,he also knows how to remove them. Tonight has been a huge battle,trying to keep his diaper on. He was wearing a diaper,swim pants and shorts,but he poured drink all over his shorts,uhhhh. He still managed to pull down his swim pants and undo his diaper earlier.. I dont know how to keep this kid dressed! He even took his shirt off during the IEP meeting today. I did warn them that he has a mean Chip-N-Dale routine,lol.
Oh not sure if I shared this or not,but we were at Maw Maw's house yesterday,we lost Brady! We were looking all over the house and couldn't find him,we were in a panic. We finally found him in the back,in the screened in porch,in a kiddy pool full of water! We had it out there last weekend for him to play in,while we had a supper at her house. Anyways,he was happy,so we just sat down and let him finish playing. I took him out and took his clothes off,so while I was getting him dry clothes,he decided to pee in Maw Maw's floor :0
We went grocery shopping today. While we were checking out,I heard a woman saying owh,owh,owh,I immediately knew Brady was involved. I turned to see him holding onto this womans hair,he had a death grip. I apologized,but she said it was fine. Deep down she prob wanted to knock him out,lol. There is never a dull moment with this kid!
Brady is doing great,other than being a wild,stripping little boy. So far,we still have seen no seizures,since the VNS. We will start taking away one of his meds next month,hopefully it will go well.

Well first off,Brady is standing here sniffing my feet,lol lol. Either that means they smell pretty good or they really stink,lol. I dont know whats gotten into him with his new sniffing fetish. I caught him sniffing his dads socks this weekend,lol.
Today has been a pretty good day,all in all. Brady slept in this morning,so hes not sleepy at all right now. Hopefully his magic pill will kick in real soon. He has been really destructive tonight. I have cleaned this room up at least 4 times today,but he immediately starts back to work on it when I'm done. He has managed to rip up two books tonight,little stinker!! We of course had to throw a poop party into that mix,yippeee! We have got to get our potty chair,he cant stand to mess up his diaper,but wont sit on toilet either,he just has to many other things he would rather be doing :0
OH,I got an estimate on how much money the Angelman Walks raised for the foundation this year,but of course the numbers are still coming in. The estimated total at the moment is $850,000,whooooo hooooo!!! I think its a little less than last year,but hopefully the numbers will keep going up.
Anyways thats it for now. I will post more later. Gotta go chase my little monkey,hes into something! |

Never Judge
|
'Some people!' snorted a man standing behind me in the long line at the grocery store.
'You would think the manager would pay attention and open another line, 'said a woman. I looked to the front of the line to see what the hold up was and saw a well dressed, young woman, trying to get the machine to accept her credit card. No matter how many times she swiped it, the machine kept rejecting it.
'It's one of them welfa re card things. Damn people need to get a job like everyone else,' said the man standing behind me. The young woman turned around to see who had made the comment. 'It was me,' he said, pointing to himself.
The young lady's face began to change expression. Almost in tears, she dropped the welfare card onto the counter and quickly walked out of the store. Everyone in the checkout line watched as she began running to her car. Never looking back, she got in and drove away.
After developing cancer in 1977 and having had to use food stamps; I had learned never to judge anyone, without knowing the circumstances of their life. This turned out to be the case today.
Several minutes later a young man walked into the store. He went up to the cashier and asked if she had seen the woman. After describing her, the cashier told him that she had run out of the store, got into her car, and drove away.
'Why would she do that?' asked the man. Everyone in the lin e looked around at the fellow who had made the statement. 'I made a stupid comment about the welfare card she was using. Something I shouldn't have said. I'm sorry,' said the man.
'Well, that's bad, real bad, in fact. Her brother was killed in Afghanistan two years ago. He had three young children and she has taken on that responsibility. She's twenty years old, single, and now has three children to support,' he said in a very firm voice.
'I'm really truly sorry. I didn't know,' he replied, shaking both his hands about.
The young man asked, 'Are these paid for?' pointing to the shopping cart full of groceries. 'It wouldn't take her card,' the clerk told him.
'Do you know where she lives?' asked the man who had made the comment.
'Yes, she goes to our church.'
'Excuse me,' he said as he made his way to the front of the line. He pulled out his wallet, took out his credit card and told the cashier, 'Please use my card. P LEASE!' The clerk took his credit card and began to ring up the young woman's groceries.
Hold on,' said the gentleman. He walked back to his shopping cart and began loading his own groceries onto the belt to be included. 'Come on people. We got three kids to help raise!' he told everyone in line. Everyone began to place their groceries onto the fast moving belt. A few customers began bagging the food and placing it into separate carts. 'Go back and get two big turkeys,' yelled a heavyset woman, as she looked at the man. 'NO,' yelled the man. Everyone stopped dead in their tracks. The entire store became quiet for several seconds. 'Four turkeys,' yelled the man. Everyone began laughing and went back to work. When all was said and done, the man paid a total of $1,646.57 for the groceries He then walked over to the side, pulled out his check book, and began writing a check using the bags of dog food piled near the front of the store for a writing surface . He turned around and handed the check to the young man. 'She will need a freezer and a few other things as well,' he told the man.
The young man looked at the check and said, 'This is really very generous of you.'
'No,' said the man. 'Her brother was the generous one.'
Everyone in the store had been observing the odd commotion and began to clap. And I drove home that day feeling very American.

Well were back and recovering from our busy weekend! We had a blast at the walk,everyone done such a good job getting things together. There were several other Angels there and many friends and family members as well. I havent got a head count yet,but I will post it as soon as I have it. All in all it was very successful!! I had so much fun visiting with all the other families. Brady did walk for a short time in the actual walk,but was very distracted by Maw Maw,so we had to put him in the stroller. The door prizes were a big hit,everyone loved them. We had lots of music and dancing Angels everywhere. Brady totally loved the loud music,he was so cute dancing around. Picture time was to funny!! When you put several Angels all next to each other,you get lots of clapping,laughing and hair pulling,it was a hoot!! Anyway I wanted to say thanks so much to all who contributed to the walk and helped coordinate,it was a lot of hard work,but so well worth the effort.

| WOW!!! Do you guys see where were at on our fundraiser,were over 100%!!!!!!!!!!! I really didn't think we would do this well this year,but everyone has been so generous,thank you all so much!! Its such an important time for the ASF,with all the new advancements being made. It seems like just maybe,a treatment or even a cure,could be around the corner. Thank you all so very much for supporting this very important cause. Not only would treatment or a cure,benefit individuals with AS,but could be very beneficial to people with other neurological disorders or autism. So again,thank you all for the support,we made our goal. We are looking forward to the walk this weekend,its going to be like a big family reunion,its such an amazing experience. I will be sure and post lots of new pics,not only of Brady and Peyton,but of all the other Angels and their families as well. So keep checking back after Saturday and Sunday. I wont be posting anymore until after the walk,so wish us well. Hope you all have a good weekend. HUGSSSSSS |

My baby is at school the weather is pretty bad there,they are all in the hallway,hunkered down at the moment. I will post more later,but as I said,say a prayer for us and for my baby at school! |

Well I have good news and bad news. The bad news is Brady had his first bad night last night,since his surgery. No seizures,thank goodness,but he did stay up playing until 3:30am. I was wore out,I have gotten out of practice,lol. He slept til 9am and was cranky so I told him to go back to sleep,we weren't acting like that all day. So he slept til sometime after 11am and got up feeling happy and refreshed.
The good news is,Brady said some new words today! I was calling the cat a big baby,because he was sitting at the door meowing. Well Brady blurted out "big baby"! It was so funny,thank goodness we had company here that heard him say it to,so we had a witness,lol. We managed to get him to repeat it 2 more times after that,he said it so clearly! I tried to get him to call his dad a big baby when he came in,but he only managed to call him a baby,which was pretty funny,lol. Anyway were excited,he has never said either of those words,let alone put them together like that,its so cool!
I also forgot to tell you guys,Brady walked in beach sand over the weekend. He walked all the way down to the water,I was very impressed! He has never been able to do that,we have always had to carry him,so our backs are finally getting a rest!
Anyways thats it for now. I will post more later. |

Well,were back from our mini vacation,and we had a blast! Brady loved the glass elevator,I think he would have rode it up and down over and over if we had let him. He giggled each time we rode it. He loved the pools,hot tubs and the beach. He played so hard this past weekend,but he was a trooper the entire time. We went to a shopping area where there are shops all along the side walks and a big Ferris wheel in between the shops. Brady got outside the eating places and was peeking in at the people eating,tapping the glass like he was starving,lol. He got so mad when we wouldn't take him in,he just lay down in the middle of the sidewalk and refused to get up. It wasn't so funny at the time,but now we can laugh about it,lol. We took him to Dip N Dots next,but he refused to even try the ice cream!!
Anyway we all rode the Ferris wheel,I must admit I was a little nervous about taking Brady up. He done really good though,he just laughed the entire time. He also loved looking off of our balcony,we were on the 9th floor. We didn't get in the beach water though,the jelly fish were awful this weekend. Brady made lots of new friends in the pools and when we went shopping,he just loves being around new people. All in all,we had a great time and hey,we made it through the entire weekend without breaking anything! Brady was so wore out today,he slept all night and until 2pm today. He got up on the couch tonight and went back to sleep,lol. At least now we know how to tire him out!
Now were getting ready for another big weekend,the Angelman Walk-A-Thon in Mobile! Were getting so excited,this week is gonna go by really slow I'm afraid. Once again,I want to invite all of you to come walk with us,the more the merrier!!!! Its going to be a special year for us,this will be Brady's first walk-a-thon,since he started walking!

Not much happening here,other than Brady being a little monkey! He has been sweet today,but pretty much a wild man. He has been picking and teasing everyone,all day long. He did do something new today tough!! He was walking towards me and noticed the broom had fallen over in front of him,he got down on his hands and feet and climbed over the broom,normally he would have just plowed over it and done his best not to fall. He is starting to actually watch where hes going,somewhat. Not much else going on here. Brady had a pretty nasty nose bleed this afternoon,I suspect it was caused from his meds,this isn't the first time this has happened. Anyway I had just put him in his car seat and looked up to see him smearing blood everywhere. So I started cleaning that up,and he starts picking at a bug bite on his leg and it is pouring blood by now. He looked like he had been beat,it was a bloody mess!! Every time I would put the rag over his nose,he would start blowing and laughing,uhhhhhhh!! But it all turned out ok,hes fine now.
Well I wont post anything else til Sunday. I'm taking Brady to the beach for the weekend,so we should have some cool pictures when we get back. Hope you all have a great weekend. I will post the pictures on Sunday. |

Brady is doing well today,feeling lots better. We started the morning out by him falling off the bed,he didn't cry though,he just had a really stunned look on his face,but he was ok,lol. He teaches me something new every day. Today I learned that Hash brown Casserole will stick to the wall,lol. He thought it would be funny to slap the spoon I was feeding him with and of course it landed all over the wall :o At the moment he is harassing the poor cat,but better the cat than me! His ear seems to be totally well,but were finishing up our antibiotic.
I have to brag on Peyton,he got saved this past weekend!!!!!!!!!! Im so proud of him. God has really been working on him for several weeks now. We had no idea what was going on with him,until Thursday of last week. He went to a program at church Saturday night. He went down to the alter and gave his life to Christ. He is such an amazing little boy,we truly are blessed to have two very special little boys in our family.
Anyway now that I'm done bragging,I'm signing off. Will post more later. |

Well,just got up to check on my clothes in the washer and of course its on the fritz yet again. So while I sit here and wait to see if my clothes are gonna ring out,thought I would post an update.
Things are good here,but thought I would loose my mind yesterday. Brady was so darn cranky. I think his Clorox must have had an ill pill in it. He was so ill all day long,he hit,pinched,pulled hair and snatched everyones glasses off. He fussed all day long,I don't know whats going on with him. His ear infection seems to be better and we aren't seeing any seizures,so hopefully he was just having a bad hair day. Hopefully he will wake up refreshed and in a good mood this morning,(fingers crossed)! I don't know how many more days I can take like yesterday,I think I need a vacation,lol. Were heading out to the beach in a few days,so hopefully that will energize all of us,we really do need a break. I just pray that Brady isn't getting sick!!!!
Anyway,as for our fundraiser,the cash donations and door prizes keep coming in :) I think we might actually reach our second goal,whooo hooo!! I'm getting really excited as the walk draws closer,were going to have such a good time. I want to invite all of you one more time,to come and walk with us,you would never forget it!! If you need more info,just contact me.
I'm heading to bed now,so I will post more later. I have more pictures to post too,as soon as I get up and charge my camera battery,lol. So stay tuned :) |

Brady continues to do well,no ill effects from his earlier clorox adventure. He has been eating like a pig this afternoon,he just cant seem to get full. He has even eaten meat today,he had ham earlier and for supper he actually ate some hamburger steak,not sure what the change is,but were very excited.
Not much else happening here. Were heading to the beach this coming up weekend,so we should have some great pictures to post,so stay tuned.
As for our fundraiser,as you may have noticed,we are up to $1,135.00. I would have never dreamed that we would have done this well,with things like they are these days,so thank you all so much for contributing!!
Anyway I will post more later. |

What a way to start the day!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brady's dad found a sippy cup that had been hidden,had some pretty nasty stuff in it,so as we always do when this happens,we put a little water and a lot of Clorox in the cup and leave it to soak in the kitchen sink. Well someone didn't latch the kitchen gate back behind themselves,so while we were in Brady's room,moving the bed,cleaning up,etc, I heard Brady making a strange noise and realised he had slipped into the kitchen. I ran in to see what he was doing and he was just taking the cup away from his mouth!!!!! I called my husband in to see what was in this cup,as Brady's eyes were watering and he is starting to cough. His dad explained that it was Clorox,bleach!!! Brady will turn a cup up and guzzle it down,without breathing or even tasting the cup,for nearly a minute or until he has swallowed several mouthfuls. So he didn't even stop to taste of what it was,before he guzzled it down. He was shocked when he finally did get a taste of the Clorox though! So I immediately fixed him a real cup,which he wanted nothing to do with it,lol. I then called poison control and she said we shouldn't have any problems and suggested we give him a Popsicle,which we did and he ate that. He coughed for just a little bit,but recovered pretty quickly. It's amazing what these kids can swallow and still be ok,thank God for this!! Needless to say,we wont be soaking anymore sippy cups in Clorox,lol. I swear if its not one thing its another,how in the world do you keep a house totally Angel proof?!!
Anyways disaster averted,things are fine now,gotta get back to the cleaning. I will post more later. |

Well,it turned out to be yet another busy day. We had to go to the bank,then the courthouse,then grocery shopping. Brady was so sweet the entire time. He made several new friends in the courthouse,including the deputies. He was all over the place,speaking to everyone,we even lost our place in line several times,lol. I was so proud of him,he climbed up all the steps,only holding one hand. He stepped up each and every step,like a big boy!! He has never mastered steps before,so this is a huge accomplishment for him.
Anyway we went to the grocery store next,where he met a woman getting out of her car,and grabbed her hand. She walked all the way in the store holding his hand,and was so sweet to him. She thanked him for walking her in the store,and had to speak to him every time we passed by her.
He hasn't been feeling well tonight. He has been borderline manic and has been really digging in his ear,it still looks pretty yucky. He's been fussing a lot,I cant tell that his ear is getting to him,poor little guy. We will probably be going to the ENT tomorrow.
