Well its 2am and Brady is wired again,so I thought I would update his blog while I wait for him to sleep.So far tonight he has been into everything,as usual.But he is especially proud of himself for mastering the latch on the gate to the kitchen.He stands up and reaches over the gate to unlatch it,then sits down opens and crawls through.So I thought I would teach him that I could outdo him tonight.I tied the gate shut with a belt and latched it.Well it only took about a minute to unlatch it and take the belt off.So I guess I have been defeated again.I went to ask my hubby how to latch it to keep Brady out,and when I came back after a minute of so,Brady had climbed up on the table and poured out his brothers milk all over the place and was splashing around in it like a little fish.Then he decided to climb up on the couch and fall off backward,he nearly gave me a heart attack.Thank goodness were getting a helmet for him soon.Last but not least,he just ate a bug,go figure! On a better note,he is trying really hard to walk these days.He will take as many as 10 or so independent steps at the time.Until tonight he had no protective response at all,but for the first time,he let go of the gate he was holding onto,bent over and put his hands down on the floor to catch himself,good job Brady!Hes learning also how to sit down on his bottom when he feels like hes going to fall.So hopefully we want have as many busted heads as I had feared. Brady seems to be really alert and hyper these days.He has been coming off of some of his meds,and is down from 6 daily,to 2 daily.So I guess hes not as sedated as before and is really trying out his wings now.The bad thing is that even though we have seen good points since coming off the med,we have seen many bad points too.His behavior is becoming an issue.He is becoming more aggressive,not really in a mean way,but playful and he does not mind as well as he did beforehand.I guess maybe things will get better once he gets used to the change. Anyway I will try to keep you all posted.
Well I just wanted to let everyone know what a day with Brady is like these days.So far today Brady has been even more wild than the norm. He managed to get into the china cabinent,while I was sweeping in the living room,and broke some dishses before I could get to him and pulled the trash out of the can. While I was cleaing,he played a disappearing act,where I found him digging through the drawers in the bathroom.Then he decided it would be fun to put cue tips in the VCR,thanks Brady! As the day rolled on,he managed to single handely destroy and strow everything that I have been trying to clean up. So if any of you visit and you think man that house is strowed,now you can understand why,or at least babysit so I can clean up,lol. Anyway I walked to the closet to get his clothes,all of 30 seconds away from him,he managed to pour drink all over my computer desk,and take both phones off the hook. So I said oh Brady you were talking on the phone,hung them up and started getting him dressed. Well then the phone rings,and this lady on the other end says,this is E911,I think I was just talking to your child! I said oh no,I am so sorry. She said its ok,but you dont have an emergency right? I said no,but wanted to say,no not yet,but give me time,lol! So its only 2:30 pm and already such an exciting day,wonder whats next!I will keep you posted on our many adventures.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Brady is much better,hes back to being a wild man!I think hes even more wild now,than when before he went to the hospital last week. Have you ever tried cleaning house with an Angel,lol! Last night he was unloading one side of the dishwasher while I was loading the other side. He was standing up pulling dishes out of the sink,taking the trash out of the trash can,ripping things off my desk,unfolding laundry while I folded,ripping clothes off the hangers tried doing laundry on the bed,but he kept climbing back up,lol. I was getting no where fast,so he went to see maw maw for an hour,thank goodness for maw maw. Brady also learned to open yet another latch on the gate,and played a disappearing act to the bathroom shower.He's also learned how to open up the screen door now,so hes been trying to escape to the outside,who knows where he would go,prob to visit maw maws,lol. Oh I have to tell this story,its pretty funny. We were in speech today,and Brady was being so bad,he was pulling his speech therapists hair,climbing all over her,then would love on her,hes such a sneak.Anyway he got mad with me cause I wouldn't give him what he wanted,and he started saying in a mad tone,mama mama mama.So I said you better hush your mouth,zip your lips boy.His speech therapist said,look we are in speech therapy,trying to get this boy to talk,he says mama mama mama,and you tell him to zip it,lol lol.I started laughing,I said well,I cant have him sassing me now can I,lol. Anyway that's about it for now,I will try to get some more pictures to add soon.Hugs to yall.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Brady caught a bug of some kind and started throwing up.We took him to the ER and they admitted him at 4am Monday morning.He was in pretty bad shape for a little while,but last night started coming around.We knew that he would be ok when we couldnt keep him in the bed and took him for a stroll around the hospital in the wagon,he suckered some woman in a clown suit,out of a cupcake,lol.So he ate his cupcake and wanted more,thats the first interest he has showed in food lately.He has been a wild man today,climbing on both me and Craig,yanking at his IV and climbing out of the bed,oh yea,its been fun!They released him this afternoon and we are back home now.Meanwhile,big brother has croup again,I am getting over the bug Brady had,and have a sinus infection now,and dad has cellulitus again!But we are hanging in there,and appreciate everyones thoughts and prayers!I will keep you all posted.Angel hugs to yall.
I am a happy healthy 5yr old little boy. I have Angelman Syndrome which makes me even more special. I bring joy to all those who meet me. Just because I am unable to speak, does not mean that I dont have lots to say. I make that very clear to mommy and daddy everyday!
